Outstanding Boss Award

I have received a couple awards since transitioning to full time with my company but none meant as much to me personally as the one I received on Friday.  On Friday afternoon my team came by and gave me an Outstanding Boss Award.  It’s not a formal award through my company but just something they felt moved to do based on what I have done for them since starting as the manager of the team.  I felt a few tears welling up but managed to hold it together but it was really touching.  I normally use productivity and attitude/behavior as a measure of my success as a manager but this was a positive affirmation of our work as a team that I wasn’t expecting and that I really will cherish.
